Radiate 05:23
You just go on leave your city, fly to Timbuktu. Tie your shoes tight, pack your clothes, Leave behind your blues. Your blues. Some things I can’t remember, some I choose to forget. Always deep in my head. Hoping, I’m still hoping, But I kept fucking up. And this time I know the way home. And this time I’m not afraid, yeah. She said, “Find your soul and radiate”. You just go on leave your city, go play Montreal. Go live your dream, let it take its toll. Some things I can’t remember, oh no, oh I choose to forget. But all things considered, well, No one has stopped me yet, yeah. And this time I know the way home. And this time I’m not afraid, yeah. She said, “Find your soul and radiate”. Radiate. This time I know the way, yeah. Oh, this time I’m not afraid. She said, “Find your soul and radiate”.

Fade away, my mistakes, take a bow. All awake, double take, I can’t relate to all the emptiness in your vows. How they walk around like someone else, A masquerading shell of ill intent. Is it you I know? To my mistakes, you’ve taught me so well. To my mistakes, wither, burn, and peel. Winging it, innocent, on my own. Strike the set, disconnect, all alone. Strike the set, gates been checked, coda played. All the fakes, lying snakes, I can’t relate to all the emptiness in your vows. So drag your beaten, bloody feet to the end and then I will carry you along. Winging it, innocent, on my own. Strike the set, disconnect, all alone. Leaving them I swear I shed, every last lament. To my mistakes, you are the last I’ll make. To my mistakes, all you well hidden fakes. To my mistakes, you’ve taught me so well. To my mistakes, wither, burn, and peel. Winging it, innocent, on my own. Strike the set, disconnect, all alone. Leaving them I swear I shed, every last lament. Yesterday I fell off, bumped my head, She kissed it better, took me in.

Deep breath’s essential now but can't tell when to let out. He's got to get a grip, these feelings have a hold on him. She smiles, lightly bats an eye, knows that she's got him locked up tight. Keeps her eyes on the prize. Ms. Magpie likes her shiny things. Keep going, try to stay calm, these feelings always wear out. What does it matter now? No one else needs to know. She's my friend, Only wants him when it's feeling dim. It's all in his head, She only loves him when she calls him. The walls are breaking down now, can't tell the truth from fallout. He sees the truth even though she hides her eyes from him. Envy wears the cracks in deeper. Sees strangers in the mirror. What does it matter now? No one else needs to know. She's my friend, Only wants him when it's feeling dim. It's all in his head, She only loves him when she calls him. Tell a story, just a tale to make me stay awhile. One to soothe me, one to hold me down and wear me paper thin. Just a number scribbled down, another little white lie. No one else needs to know. She's my friend, Only wants him when it's feeling dim. It's all in his head, Can't get a win when there's no one else. She doesn't care. Only wants him when it's feeling dim. She doesn't care, It's all in his head. She only loves him when she calls him

I’m counting down I’m staying true The shapes of us A thought of you Seek and find Breaking orbit Heart, soul, and mind Find the loop I’m listening To the tune of offering Climbing down your neighbour’s door Come back tomorrow, there’ll be more Seek and find, Breaking orbit Heart, soul, mind Spinning ‘round, touching down Man I hope I find my ground In the book, in which book Did you look? Did you look now? Tired son, living ghost Come back tomorrow, make the most So close, oh so close Seek and find Breaking orbit Heart, soul, and mind Got to break through Breaking Orbit Yeah, yeah, yeah Breaking orbit It’s all on you We all have our bones to bare We all have our bones to bare You must choose Over and over And over and over And over, yeah Breaking orbit Heart, soul, and mind Got to break through Breaking orbit Yeah, yeah, yeah

It was a cold night. No body but yours to keep mine warm. I lent, My soul to you. In through the window. Out through the doorway, Down the hall, whistling in your ear. “I am right here”. Wake up to find another day’s gone by. Wake up to find another year’s gone...bye bye. ‘cause it wants more. More of my heart I can’t ignore. Burning deep. Haunting visions in my sleep, Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Wake up to find another day’s gone by. Wake up to find another year’s gone by. You tried and you tried, But there’s something else. Like a burning desire met with a curse. Is that what you want? Is that what you want? Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Wake up to find another year’s gone by. Wake up to find another year’s gone by. You tried and you tried, But there’s something else. Like a burning desire met, Like a burning desire met, with a curse. Is that what you want?

Lavender 04:51
She was a dancer only in her own mind. Watching herself spin around. Feet never to touch the ground. She couldn’t remember how the moon felt on her skin. Smell of lavender in her hair as the sky spun high above her. She drinks every night just to hide the pain, But the liquor won’t take it away. The sleep it just wears her out, as the world spins beneath her. Just another day, don’t feel the same, Another night in an empty bed with you again. She spins slowly on. Can’t forget the smell of her. He wishes he were stronger just so he could pick her up. Bury your weakness with a shot of courage, boy. Your strength isn’t what it used to be. She’s convinced life isn’t worth living now. His voice just tires her out as she goes to cry on his shoulder. Just another day, don’t feel the same, Another night in an empty bed with you again. She spins slowly on. Can’t forget the smell of lavender.

Are you okay? I haven’t heard from you. What becomes of yesterday? What becomes of us? I don’t know. Collapsed and predisposed, We fought back against the machine. ‘cause then we knew, then we knew, Who’s the master and who’s the sheep. Just keep those lines open ‘cause Violence begets violence. Staying off your radar. It’s getting late but I’ll meet you halfway. Wherever you are, I’m off your radar. Are you okay? Don’t be afraid, It’s what you do not what you say. Don’t let ‘em in, don’t let ‘em in. Don’t let ‘em intertwine. If you want you can just take off, Find anything find your love. I’m on to you, onto me, on to you. Just keep those lines open ‘cause Violence begets violence. Staying off your radar. It’s getting late but I’ll meet you halfway. Wherever you are, I’m off your radar. Wherever you are, I’m off your radar. Shine on something worthy, like the way you wish it could be, Shine on, shine on, shine on, shine. Shine on something worthy, shine on something worthy. Shine on, shine on, shine on, shine. It’s getting late but I’ll meet you halfway. Chipping away at the walls we create. Wherever you are, I’m off your radar. Wherever you are, I’m off your radar.

about

The fragility of life, love, and their counterparts; these are the things that shape our existence and the aptly named debut album Counterpart by new alt. rockers, Iduna.

Produced by Mark Makoway (Moist, David Usher), Iduna’s Counterpart is a guitar-driven nod to the great halls of alt. rock past. The introspective lyrics, sometimes wistful, sometimes fierce, are delivered with rich harmonies and stirring melodies.

Counterpart is a record consisting of the band’s most sincere moments. Each track is an attempt at vulnerability, articulating feelings of betrayal, injury, optimism, and compassion. The group strives for honesty in everything they do and brought that attitude to the studio.

Seeking a like-minded producer, Iduna reached out to Makoway who eagerly came on board after listening to a handful of demos. Together they sculpted songs over a period of many months, leading to a gratifying recording undertaking at PhaseOne Studios and Rumblecone in Toronto.

about

Iduna Toronto, Ontario

Iduna makes alternative rock music that wrestles with the question of what it is to be and who we should be to each other. Building on the sounds of The Smashing Pumpkins, Matthew Good Band, Biffy Clyro, and Kings of Leon with a political tinge, their songs are replete with questions about modern morality and the state of being an empathetic person in a world complicit with injustice. ... more
